BUICK — SERIES 50 — EIGHT: Buick's styling was all but unchanged (the only observable difference was a radiator cap bearing a figure 8) but that hardly mattered since three new straight-eight engines were introduced for 1931. None of these engines shared any interchangeable parts and the smallest, displacing 220 cubic inches was used for the Series 40 which had the same 114″ wheelbase of the discontinued Marquette.
