1969 Chevrolet Impala, V-8 2d Conv

IMPALA — (6-CYL/V-8) — SERIES 163/164 — The Impala, being a bit fancier than Biscayne/Bel Air models, came with the triple taillight arrangement. There were also wide, bright metal underscores along the lower portion of the body, between the wheel openings. Bodyside script bore the Impala name. The two-door sedan was not offered, but four other styles joined the four-door sedan in this line. Sportier models such as the convertible and Custom Coupe with formal (blind rear quarter) roof came with V-8 power only. Other models, including two-and four-door hardtops offered buyers the choice of a six or V-8. Impala-level Kingswood station wagons also came solely with V-8 engines. Standard equipment included everything used for Bel Airs except that bright roof drip moldings were deleted from all the full-pillared models. In addition, all Impalas added a Deluxe steering wheel; door and window frame moldings; glovebox and luggage compartment lighting and extra-thick front foam seat cushions. The Sport Coupe also had bright metal moldings below the doors combined with wheel lip moldings. The convertible had all of this plus all-vinyl upholstery and carpeted lower door panels. Kingsman station wagons also had courtesy lights and bodyside moldings.
